APRIL SHOWER
I turned 17 April 1. Yes, on April Fools Day. This is my life story. As a young girl growing up in rural Philippines, I was taunted and ridiculed constantly because I was a bastard child.Then my father suddenly appeared in my life; married my mother, and we came to the United States. I thought my dreams of having a complete family unit was finally upon me. But it would not be so. My mom and dad kept secrets from me that devastated me. This is a story about coping with childhood disappointments. It's not easy, and I spend a lot of time fantasizing for a better life. But you know. . .sometimes, dreams do come true. We should never lose hope.
