I started writing when I was twelve and it all began with a short composition called "the Eight Ball Express" a race car so named for it never having won a race. If one sinks the eight ball ahead of all the other balls on the pool table one has lost the game. We had a pool table at home which inspired that very first composition my dad got a phone call about from my english teacher.
