Books: THE DESPISED POOR (Beacon Press), I NEVER LOOKED FOR MY MOTHER AND OTHER REGRETS OF A JOURNALIST, and a produced playwright. I have made my living as a journalist. My plays have been staged in various places, including NYC and LA. I have a playwriting fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts. I was one of the writers of a newspaper series entitled "The Road to Integration" which won a Pultizer . I have also received national, state and local awards for my writings.
