  Summary of this Book...

This book goes over the travels of the book's author, Tom Bissell, in Uzbekistan. Part of the book talks about the Aral Sea and how it is disappearing. There are many different political, personal, and geographical growth issues talked about in this book.

This type of Book is good for...

It's a travel book. It's good to learn about different experiences you can have through the Peace Corps and also to learn mroe about the disaster of the Aral Sea.

  I especially liked...

The fact that this book is mostly true. These events actually happened and I find it fascinating.

  I didn't like...

It jumps around a lot, but most travel books do.

When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...

Go to Uzbekistan or join the Peace Corps so I could have experiences like this.

  The author of this Book...

Tom Bissell is an amazing person. I went to a reading he held at Michigan State University and I talked with him a little bit personally about my own travels and some of his other experiences. He's truly fascinating and, not to mention, a great author.

  I recommend this Book because...

It's good. There's nothing more to it. This book is a marvel to read.
