This is one of the funniest books I have read in a while. It follows one man's struggle to find a killer, preserve his own life and make a pair of shoes last more than five minutes in the living nightmare that is the United States of Europe.

For in the Pan-European Constitution it states: "No person shall be prejudiced from employment in any capacity, at any level, by reason of age, race, creed or incompetence."

As a result solving crimes becomes far harder, and much more hilarious, than on average.

Leaving you with a smile on your face. It also appeals to those hardened sceptics of the European Union and far too much political correctness.

The novel's hero (who goes by many names). He's self depreciating and gets by more on luck than good management, but still solves it all in the end.

Read more by the author. Unfortunately it's a first novel, so I can't yet.

Slightly paranoid, disturbed as to how you can make shoes out of vegetables, but in general incredibly entertained.

Should be getting more acclaim for it than he is now. I found this quite by chance, reduced in a sale.

It is incredibly funny, yet also an unerving vision of what our future could be like.

If you're very pro-European you won't enjoy it.

Go out and buy this book now, you won't regret it.
