  Summary of this Book...

The Journals of Susanna Moodie follows the life and death of a pioneer woman into Canada. Written by Margaret Atwood, one of Canada's most well known authors, The Journals of Susanna Moodie is a beautiful book.

The book has three distinct sections, of which the last one takes place after Susanna's death.

The illustrations were done on silk-screen by Charles Patcher, and complement the writing. In the original edition, all of the pages were hand pulled. The reissue was factory made.

This type of Book is good for...

This book would be a great companion for anyone who enjoys Margaret Atwood's writing, or is studying her work. The Journals of Susanna Moodie, to me is a departure from her other work, yet just as compelling.

  I especially liked...

I especially enjoyed the illustrations, which were not what I was expecting.

When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...

When I finished reading this book, it made me want to source out more of Margaret Atwood's work.

  The author of this Book...

Margaret Atwood is a Canadian treasure, the author of such books as, The Handmaid's Tale, Alias Grace and The Edible Woman.
