Summary of this Music...
A mixture of folk and power metal. You get the sense of traveling through the Shakespearean Era. Folk metal influences the pagan relgion. You will mostly hear about war, before and after the medevil era--I imagine knights and vikings in this genre. It is a range of "military" music. This genre is famous for chants. Power metal. It is not very common in the United States. More popular power music bands are Dragonforce, Blind Guardian, Judas Priest, and Mägo de Oz.
This type of Music is good for...
People who have a passion of lyrics, power (speed) metal, folk metal, Lord of The Rings, fantasy, pagan and/or wiccan religion.
I especially liked... | ||
The mixture of symphony instruments clashed with fast electric guitars and head banging drums.
I didn't like... | ||
The streotype of the title. The band did name it after LOTR. However, it has nothing to do with the books or the movie. The rumor kills the album.
When I finished listening to this Music I wanted to...
Wanted more of the kind of genre. It gave me an understanding of the word, "Heavy metal". I explored, pulled a few strings, and was opened to trading music of this kind of music. Third year lover!
This Music made me feel...
Smile! I have never heard of this genre before, and I know most Americans haven't either. It's very common in Europe and rare to find overseas. Well, if you don't look closely.
The artist of this Music...
Damnagoras. No worries. It's not his real name. He and others who sang in this album are all from Italy. Damnagoras created another band called Leprechaun which is very similar to Elvenking. Elvenking's latest album "The Winters Wake", in my opinion, wasn't as good as the original. However, they still focus on the fiddles and lyrics.
I recommend this Music because...
It's unusual against most American taste. The lyrics are deeper and reflect to the pagan religion. They emphasis emotions of sadness to feelings of hope. I call it heavy nerd metal. It's like going to a Shakespearean festival with black clothing.
I don't recommend this Music because...
I don't recommended it to people who don't have a compassion to the folk culture.
