  Summary of this Book...

The ongoing battle between Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast and his maniacal brother, Diogenes. This is the follow-up to Brimstone and Dance of Death and picks up where Dance of Death left off. However, if you have not read the previous installments, you could still enjoy Book of the Dead thoroughly. But, I would recommend reading them, just to get the background on the various characters.

This type of Book is good for...

Anyone who loves a good, fast-paced thriller with well-defined characters.

  I especially liked...

Everything: plot, characters, setting, pace, style.

  I didn't like...

When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...

Read more! I love Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child! Together, they have a great writing style! The character of Agent Pendergast is a great invention!

  This Book made me feel...

Creepy at times, but thrilled with every twist in the plot.

  The author of this Book...

Like I said, Preston and Child have a great writing style. They're descriptive without bogging down the story with useless detail. On the other hand, the detail in regard to the story and its setting capture the reader immediately. There are several sub-plots, characters and twists to this story

  I recommend this Book because...

It's a fun, fast paced thriller with a great plot, interesting characters and a fantastic setting.

I don't recommend this Book because...

  Further Comments...

I love the character of Agent Pendergast! He is a modern-day Sherlock Holmes. He's enigmatic, methodical and mysterious. This book provides the answers to his feud with his brother, Diogenes, who is a frightening character, indeed. But by the end of the book, I had sympathy for Diogenes and understood why he became what he did. The additional characters (and there are many) do not detract from the story at all. There are no loose ends when you reach the final page. Well....maybe one!
