  Summary of this Book...

The story follows Thomas Jerome Newton, an extra terrestrial from the planet Anthea. He comes to Earth in hopes of getting water to replenish his dying world. Appearing to be human in every way, despite his irregular height. He claims to be from Kentucky, but can never get the wherabouts straight. Trapped inside his lies, his true identity is found out, and he realises the cruel nature that humans can hide.

This type of Book is good for...

Fans of science fiction and David Bowie.

  I recommend this Book because...

Years have passed since I read this book and when I saw the cover it still made me gasp. Initially I picked it up because I couldn't find the movie, but I was happier having read the book first. The story's character despite being an extraterrestrial, is still relatable enough for any down to earth human. Feelings and concepts were conveyed in here that I thought I was alone in feeling at the time. After reading other works by Tevis, I feel it is safe to say that "The Man Who Fell To Earth" is his best work.

  Further Comments...

The reason I rated characters at 3 is because I realised I don't remember anything about anyone else except Thomas Jerome Newton. It dosen't hinder the story, but it may be a sign that Tevis didn't take the time to fully flesh out the supporting characters.
