  Summary of this ...

I decided to give the "Dresden Files" series of novels a try when I fell in love with the series of the same name on television.

"Fool Moon" is book two of the series, which is where I started from, since the local library didn't have the first book, but you can read the books in any order (although I think it would be more fun to read them in order).

I am not a fantasy reader, and only an occasional sci-fi reader, but I do enjoy a story with action, humor and supernatural elements. This story provides all three.

Harry Dresden is a wizard, who lives in Chicago, and helps the local luscious lady cop solve crimes involving more than ordinary players like werewolves (did you know there are four different kinds of these big dogs?), ghosts, demons and vampires. Harry is no angel, and gets into all kinds of trouble in this world, and the supernatural realm.

This type of is good for...

Fans of the television show will realise the books are a hoot to read, and much more detailed and over the top than the show. Readers who enjoy the supernatural with a twisted sense of humor and loads of action will enjoy these books.

  I especially liked...

The writer leaves clues about Harry's past, and about his future leading the reader to want to read the next book in the series. He has created likable characters (even Bob, the talking skull), that the reader can identify with, and care about.

When I finished n/a this I wanted to...

I am currently reading the third book in the series, and have the fourth one on reserve at the library. Mr. Butcher has a new fan.

  The n/a of this ...

Mr. Butcher says he is a martial arts practicioner, and has skills not in use for the last two hundred years. He is involved with the television show, also. There is going to be a "Dresden Files" RPG on the internet soon for really rabid fans.

  I recommend this because...

This book is full of action, humor, ghosties and vampires along with a talking skull. What more can a girl want?
