Summary of this Music...
Apoptygma Berzerk is a Norwegian electropop group relatively unknown in the States. Led by Stephan Groth, the group has been putting out albums since the mid-nineties. Their music ranges from depressing and gothic (early albums) to the catchy synthpop of their current release, You And Me Against The World. The addition of guitar to the lineup has changed their sound as well.
I especially liked... | ||
Apop includes a cover of Kim Wilde's 80's hit, 'Cambodia', an incredibly catchy tune that will stay in your head all day, and beyond. "In This Together' is another sing-along-get-stuck-in-your-head song.
I didn't like... | ||
There isn't anything I don't like about this album!
When I finished listening to this Music I wanted to...
Buy Apop's other albums, they are such a great group. I was also impressed by the sound of the album as a whole. Stephan Groth also writes the music and lyrics, which is totally cool.
The artist of this Music...
Stephan Groth has one of those distinctly recognizable voices that is so lacking in music nowadays. His voice ranges from tender to harsh, depending on the song.
I recommend this Music because...
This CD is a good one to start with, as it appears to be the most "rock" of any of their albums. Plus, it's a nice change from the usual MTV fare, although Apop's music would be great to see on the music channels.
Further Comments... | ||
If you are tired of the usual girly-boy groups, then give Apop a try. You can hear their music (and see them) on youtube.com. The lyrics are intelligent and thoughtful, a far cry from the usual blatantly sexual lyrics of most music today.
