Summary of this Book...
The Greek Treasure displays the lives of Henry and Sophia Schliemann, the archeologists who unearthed Homer's Troy, as well as historic sites in Greece. It vividly illustrates the frustration of working within the politics of the time, the strife between Greece and Turkey, the attempt to sway common opinion that believed there was no actual Troy, and also the problems involved with a woman trying to be taken seriously as an archeologist and a writer.
This type of Book is good for...
Overall, it is a beautiful historical novel that says much about culture and determination and spirit. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in history or archeology.
