  Summary of this Book...

Johnny Maxwell is an average kid in an average town somewhere in England... until the day he takes a stroll around the local cemetary and realises he can see the people buried there! There's a wonderful, eclectic assortment of people, and Johnny learns a bit more about history and the town's origins from his new spirit friends. They also learn to shake off the constraints that tie them to their final resting place, thanks to Johnny. When Johnny learns the cemetary plot is being sold to a developer he decides to take action to help his friends.

This type of Book is good for...

Children and anyone interested in the fantasy genre.

  I especially liked...

The interaction between Johnny and the ghosts. His best real life friends are also well depicted.

When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...

Read another Terry Prachett story!

  Further Comments...

This is the first Terry Prachett book I've ever read, and I will be reading some more of his work. His sense of humour, combined with his excellent writing style, makes his work easy to read. I have to say I enjoyed this book more than the Harry Potter books, and I think that if the marketing devoted to JK Rowling was applied to Mr Prachett she might very well find herself the second most popular fantasy writer in England.
