"Will I ever find true love?" - Hitomi Kanzaki

A story of an ordinary high school girl named Hitomi Kanzaki, who knows about cartomancy, and owns a pendant which she uses in her divination. One night when she was doing her 100m sprint for only 13 seconds, a young man riding on a dragon suddenly appeared in front of her. A pillar of light surrounds him, and through it she was also transported to Gaea.

Gaea, a world where she can see the Earth and the moon. Different countries exist in this world, and one of it is Fanelia. A kingdom ruled by Van Fanel, the young man with the dragon named as Escaflowne.

Their adventure in this world will lead to many friendships, secret love affairs, and guymelef battles.

Hitomi and Van will learn more about Escaflowne, and finds out the man behind a machine that can control the fate of people.

As the story progresses, complicated emotions build-up, intentions are questioned, and pasts of the main protagonists and antagonists will all be revealed.

Will the characters achieve a resolution in their external and internal conflicts? Will she ever return to her own world and have her normal life back?
