  Summary of this Book...

When her parents are killed by an earthquake, 5-year-old Ayla wanders through the forest completely alone. Cold, hungry, and badly injured by a cave lion, the little girl is as good as gone until she is discovered by a group who call themselves the Clan of the Cave Bear. This clan, left homeless by the same disaster, have little interest in the helpless girl who comes from the tribe they refer to as the "Others."

  I especially liked...

Jean Auel spends years researching her books to make them as realistic as she can. The starter story in a series of six books, this tells the beginning story of a young girl named Ayla. Ayla is raised by what we may commonly refer to as 'cavemen'. The way Jean tells the story makes it so plausible. The research she has done on the early people shows through her words. The differences in early people vrs. the people of today are profound. She keeps you riveted until the very end.

When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...

Read the next one Wink

  This Book made me feel...

It was done so very well. i could connect with the characters. It gave me more of an understanding of our early ancestors. It was not only a cultural difference but shows how we have evolved and adapted as a people.

  The author of this Book...

Jean M. Auel
