Summary of this Book...
This book is the fourth in the mystery series involving Scotland Yard Inspector Tommy Lynley. This book is a prequel in the sense that it involves the characters of Lynley, Lady Helen, Deborah and St. James before they were joined in the first book. This book allows the reader to understand the dynamics of the romantic relationships and breakups between the characters.

It also has a murder mystery with a lot of twists and turns and red herrings. A man is killed and Lynley and company try to figure out why when Lynley's brother, Peter, is implicated in the crime.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys the Lynley series. I would almost recommend reading this one first before A Great Deliverance because it gives you so much knowledge with regard to the characters.
I especially liked...
the character of Lady Helen Clyde. I can see why anyone would love her.
I didn't like...
the fact that Havers appearances in the book are very limited. It gives insight into her initial hostility to Lynley, but she is my favorite character so I missed having her running about.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read the next in the series, which is called "For the Sake of Elena". I have already started it.
This Book made me feel...
like I read a mystery with great characters that made me turn the page and read quickly.
The author of this Book...
knows how to craft an intricate whodoneit with lots of twists and turns that only make sense in the end.
I recommend this Book because...
it is the fourth in a GREAT series!
