Summary of this Book...
This book's title is based on a quote from former President Clinton where he called President Obama an amateur when he was trying to convince Hillary to run against him in 2012.
I have not heard the Clintons deny that this happened. The book is a very unflattering portrait of the President. It is a quick read.
The writer formerly worked for The New York Times magazine and has written many bestsellers.
This type of Book is good for...
probably the people who will not read it because of the title. A lot of the stuff I already knew, but I did not know the details of the rift with Caroline Kennedy and also the rift with Oprah. Some of the rift with Oprah has been distorted in the reporting. From this book, it appears that Gayle King is his source and I have not heard a denial from her.
I especially liked...
the sourcing and the fact that the portrait of Valerie Jarrett was more complete than anything else I have seen. I think I finally understand who she is and why she has the position she does.
I didn't like...
the fact that only the most negative connotation is taken always to everything. I would have liked a little bit of the other side in there.
This Book made me feel...
a bit nauseated but it made me have more respect for Robert Gibbs.
The author of this Book...
obviously has an agenda and makes his arguments to support that.
I recommend this Book because...
because I have not heard any specific denials of the substance presented by any of the sources. There is a lengthy interview with Reverend Jeremiah Wright that is supported by a video tape the author made.
I was interested in the similarities to Nixon. That has been my belief since I observed the behavior towards Hillary in the campaign.
This doesn't mean that I think that the Republicans are perfect. Far from it. It is just that now the little mice are scurrying out of their hiding places and blabbing about this administration. I knew it would happen at some point. A lot of them whispered to the author of this book.
