I don't have a muse, and never have. I'm afraid that if I did have one, she would be a small Chinese woman standing in the doorway, looking significantly at her watch every minute or so while I dug around in the sofa searching for enough loose change to pay for the chicken-fried rice. On the whole, I think I do better without her.

Accepted December 7, 2009

Magazine: Danse Macabre

We present a bi-monthly literary buffet of writers from across the spectrum. Our contributors hail from around the world; we also showcase kunst und kunstler whose works suffer the temperamental vicissitudes of the literatti from beyond the grave. Our mission is to further expand the creative landscape of the non-academic literary web. Our central editorial criteria is the overall imaginative effort you deploy to transcend prevailing orthodoxies. The narrative contours of international magical realism are especially appreciated. Tips from the Editor If fanciful letters appeal to the composer in you, we invite you to submit your ink energy for future editions of this electronic journal. While we pride ourselves in the number of accomplished scribes, journal editors, etc., who have graced our pages, we encourage new & previously unpublished writers to send us your best coloratura efforts.

2.  Orson Scott Card loves my writing?ID #679442

Edited: 12-10-2009 @ 4:25 pm EST

Some readers may already have heard the pounding of my happy feet, but I received a very exciting letter the day before yesterday. I submitted five poems to Strong Verse  , an online poetry magazine, and the letter said:

Thank you for submitting your poems to Strong Verse. We would like to publish all five poems that you sent. Could you please send me your mailing address along with a brief bio if you’d like that included.

Our editor, Mr. Card, couldn't say enough good about your poetry -- he absolutely loves it and would love to see more.

A pretty exciting letter in any case, since Strong Verse is a paying market and had a 0.0% acceptance rate for the past year, but more exciting when I found out that the "Mr. Card" mentioned is Orson Scott Card, the author of Ender's Game. Yowza!

By the way, if you have not read Ender's Game, go get it and read it. Simply one of the best sci-fi novels of all time.

I have had a business blog for about six years elsewhere, but I thought it was about time to start a writing blog. Not sure what I'll use it for yet, to brag or to give advice or to meander through the deeper recesses of my mind. In any case, you are all welcome to come along for the ride and find out with me.
