I will try to write here daily just thoughts going thru my head at any given time. Some worth while - some not. Just trying to get into the daily habit of writing something every day. It will be interesting to see what comes out.

Hello Everyone,
Why do people put off doing things that need to be done? From the mundane of housework to the very important? I am a bad procrastinator - how about you? I try but never can quite master the thought of getting things totally done the first time. I really do try but there are some things that I just can't accomplish by myself. My husband waits until the very last minute to get things done. Is that just the way we are or can we do something about it? Makes me wonder.
Let me hear from you all.
Dianne

Hello Everyone,
Well I just updated my account, got some more points and purchased some items from the store. All in hopes that I will write more.
The custody issue we were dealing with is still going on and it is hard to find the time to write like I want to - like right now I should be updating my logs for the lawyer - and I am writing here! Our final hearing will be sometime the first quarter of next year.
If you pray or believe in a higher power please send one up for us that we will continue to maintain custody - it really is in the best interest of the child.
I like reading the stories etc on writing.com I will try to read and review more as time goes on. How do you make time for your writing with a full time job, home, spouse, and kids? I need some info on how to really get serious and do this. I would appreciate any help.
I have stories posted - one I need to take off and rework - I received valuable information from one of the writers here on some changes to make and I just have not had the time to do it.
I have several stories that I am working on and have just started a little poetry - now I just write what comes into my head on the poety - I do not know styles etc.
Right now I am waiting for my middle granddaughter to come over and take her shopping for her 12th birthday! I can't belive that she is so grown up!
I will look forward to hearing from any and all who care to post here with help for me.
Thanks
Dianne

Well maybe that now things have settled down I can get back to writing. Since my last entry we have gained temporary custody of our granddaughter. One hurdle over now the final in about 6 months.
I am now working from my home - made a nice little office here. So maybe now I will have a little more time to write and make the corrections that I want to make on my entries. I thank everyone who has read them and commented on them. I have another poem tying to form in my mind - when it is clear I will post it.
Well I had better get to work now - will write more later.
Thanks all for reading.

Well things went our way! So I am relieved I would like to thank all those who sent up prayers for us.
I don't know how much longer my job is going to hold out. My boss has mentioned part time for me. but as with most people part time is not enough. So I will have to see how this plays out.
Will write more later

Well I am back, I am not doing to well on this writing everyday! So many things seem to get in the way - and it is things that I cannot push away. I will keep trying.
A lot of personal family things are going on and hopefully in a few weeks most of it will be settled.
I want to wish everyone a happy July 4th! My family is coming and we are going to have hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill. Guess who gets to do all the work?? I use all disposable things so it's not too bad.
I am just glad that we can celebrate our independence, sometimes I wonder just how much longer we will have that independence. It seems we give away just a little more each day.
Take care all and have a happy and safe 4th!!
Keep Writing

I will not be updating my blog for a little while. I will be back in a little while. We have a major problem right now and I ask that all who believe in God and prayer please put us on your prayer list!
Thank you so much

Well I didn't get to write on Friday as I was shampooing carpets!! It really was a very fun task! If you believe that...............! Anyway Saturday I was so sore that I could hardly move! Sunday after church we had a birthday party to go to one of Jenny's friends at school. It was so hot!!! When we came home I had to balance the check book and pay some bills. Not much time left for writing!
Anyway back to it now. Some day I would like to write something really profound! Now I'm not sure what...........
Sunday my poem "Jesus Loves Me" was published in the church bulletin. I was pretty excited about that. I hope it touches someone.
I was really hoping to get some feedback on the writing that I have posted. I did when I first put it on the site, but have not had much feed back lately. I would really like to know if these little short stories have a chance with a publisher for children's books.
Well I had better get busy doing what I need to do. Will write again later. Please leave any comments that you have.
Have a beautiful day and Keep Writing
Dianne

Well day two to write - something - anything.
Today is my Jenny's first field trip with her school. She is in a private kindergarten because her birthday falls to late to go to public school just yet. She was so excited and looked so cute in her uniform. They are going to go play golf and I won't be able to be with her and take - oh I don't know - at least a hundred pictures!
Last night I actually worked on one of my stories that I have had started for awhile It is the first draft. I have to re read it again several times before I post it here. It is one of the Penelope stories of my childhood. If I keep this up I might actually get something finished.
When I write my stories I tend to have a lot of dialog in them and not a lot of description. I posted my "Cornbin" story on the Plug Page yesterday in hopes of a good critique to find out what others have to say about dialog etc. I write dialog the way I hear children talk in my head. Several of my creative writing teachers have said that it is good. What I need to know is if it is too much in a child's story.
Well what else to blog about? My mind just went blank so I guess I will stop.
Keep Writing
Dianne

Since this is my first entry in my first blog I will start off by telling you a little about myself. I was born in Mississippi and we were poor, but at the time I did not know that. The first homes I remember did not have electricity, running water, bathrooms etc. but I did have my Mom, Dad, sister and brothers - not much more was necessary. My Dad was a carpenter and I still have the first thing he ever made - a dresser for my Mom. They have both passed on to be with God - though I still miss them every day.
We came to Texas on a visit when I was still little and my parents received a phone call that our house was in the process of burning to the ground! It was rented and my parents just decided to stay. We lost everything that day except what Mom had brought with us.
I have stayed in Texas in the same general area ever since. I love it.
I am married for 37 years, I have one stepdaughter and I have one son. I have a grandson and granddaughter by my stepdaughter and two granddaughters by my son. I am raising my granddaughter by my stepdaughter. She is our youngest grandchild. Since we are raising her I consider her mine. She is beautiful and a delight to have around. If you read my writings you will get to know her.
I work 10 hours a day 4 days a week. I drive 45 min to an hour to and from work everyday. I try to be a good employee, wife, mother and grandmother and sometimes I feel like I fail miserably. I would like to have more time for me, for writing, reading, painting, sewing. I like to do a variety of things but most of them have to wait for awhile. I would not give up my Princess Jenny for all the time in the world!
I am trying to get back to writing - I've written off and on ever since junior high school. I love books, short stories, poetry - that's why I've started this, maybe if I can write in it a little everyday then maybe it will easier to finish the short stories that I have started. I would like to write a series of short stories or children's picture books on several incidents in my childhood. Since my memory is not as good as it used to be, the main theme in the books would be true, the rest fictionalized. My parents earned every gray hair they had!!
I also want to write a series of short stories. These are stories that I have told Jenny to get her to go to sleep at night. I call them Princess Jenny stories - she loves them - she's the star in them.
Well I had better end this entry for now and get back to what I need to be doing.
Thanks for reading, any comments and/or help and/or advice will be greatly appreciated.
