I've been blogging all through my days without knowing that it was blogging; although, this isn't necessarily the only thing I do without knowing what I'm doing.

Since I write on anything that's available around me, my life has been full of pieces of scribbled paper flying about like confetti. I'm so happy to finally have a permanent place to chew the fat.

So far my chewing the fat is on and off.

Maybe, I lack teeth.

Actually, I like Dr. Oz's programs because he deals with health issues, and I learned quite a bit from watching him, but like everything else, I pick what I can use and don't touch the rest.

This time, however, the program went a bit too far. I thought, not what he said, but what the book he featured on his show had to be demeaning to women in general, even though most of his audience said they liked the book.

We usually watch him on the DVR at night. When I watched this particular show, it hit a sore spot, immediately.

Other than that, I think he's helping the health issues of the nation, especially the obesity problem. .

It's all about getting outside one's comfort zone. But I am also a firm believer that it's almost impossible to do alone without some sort of outside help. I don't think most of us can just wish a convincing serial killer to life and be able to describe the crimes convincingly.

But it's a good decision to try and find the border between your comfort zone and the scary stuff. I've never been brave (or curious) enough to try to challenge mine.

It is a curse. It needs a lot of anti-hex power to undo it.
Surely, "knowing who" doesn't help in itself, but it is the first step.
In your words, "no longer trying to attain their approval" must be achieved whether they are dead or alive.
But I am looking at it this way. You were very young, very vulnerable, and very impressionable. It left huge scars that still bleed. Yet, you still disproved them. You made something of yourself, and IMHO, something great and very valuable. You must hang on to your successes, not your failures and not other people's opinions/words.
After all, parents, when they talk to you about their children's sensibilities, can be wrong, too. I know I have been wrong in assessing some of my children's negatives and positives, and believe me, I tried my hardest raising my two kids. What is inside a human being is impossible to detect.
