As I hear the words from Brave New Voices
Tears fall unwillingly from my eyes,
Passion from the heart cannot ever be quelled.
Ther strength lights poets working in their art

I wage my true self
Second best, but I try
Harder than those;
Than even most.

My breath is warm,
Blood pumps through me.
I wage my true self,
Cry out for you to be free.

..
A long ways away the image was just a spot,
Moving forward, toward where I stand, my breath.
What should I think on, what I think I will say?
The slow moving figure became larger by the day.

Still way off, but now so clearly seen,
That figure walking toward me is not in my memory.
Should I start to defend myself? Write down what I'll say?
Or perhaps I'll memorize the words that I will say.

Away, so far away, that figure walking towards me,
Growing in detail dressed well in hat and cane.
What am I going to say when he gets close on that day?
Why so many worries, I can't write everything I'll say?

I stand real, unafraid of my past; pathetic moments spun in others weird cast.
Unafraid of the sorrows that lashed scars on my back.
Life moments forever, soon to be just another part of the past.

...

Fate, and fear, where lone dark whispers mull what's clear.
Rampaging unfairness rooted cold, dark, undone; lost in the either of what once was done.
A mystic endeavor made noble by fate, illuminated in gold, glowing like Peter's fine Gate.
Fating the darkness unfair to what's love, unfair to the innocence, untrue, unloved.

...
The dark dog doldrums
Creep again upon me.
The shortness of the days
Made more than the sky gray
Cold crisp air cast in the heart,
Where I thought lived love
It's just darkness unsought,
Cold dark gripping,
Release can't be seen.
Is this life that I'm living
Not worthy of age?
Did the stage curtain close
Down on my head?
These strong mental caverns,
Dark, lonely, unsaid.
Life force once given,
Now yielding dread.

I thought of her gentle smile,
Soft pale skin of she.
Where the sun surely shines
To infuse that glow of gold.
Touch of hands, that glimmer in her eyes.
Surrendered tears, that swimming pool.
A heart of loving noble right.
Be the one, gentle girl,
Smile and kiss we sleep like this tonight,
As I touch your gentle smile.
Living is the way I've been tout to say.
Living me, touch my soul.
You hold my heart through our stage.

...

I look up at the ceiling
with contorted sobbing face
Tears streaming from my eyes
falling to the floor in rapid pace.

None now left to turn too,
Looking up to touch with God.
Will I now come see you?
Is it time to see your face?

There is no more I can take.
No more I can do.
To you I surrender
Do with me what you will do.

...
If I could rest on that sweet ocean shore,
Towered by blue sky with thin cloud breathing over,

I wish in her arms, for one night more,
I'd wage all pain to hold her, as she does me.

Where the tears fall so softly, silent, gone.
The years of youth bring thoughts of joy
Gone so far from what now is known.
My felt relations cast love on where I go.

Where the sun shines on me.
I'll walk forever without any thought but you,

They say I stand sober in wait for your touch to live.

Be it
Dream it
Run it
Feel it

Be true as a person
Let them all see
Be real as the others
You want them to be
Be brave in the darkness
See more than you see
Be might for the weary
Those ragged unsure
Be kind of the self
Hold tight the dream torn

Hear it
Sing it
Live it
Share it
