I understand the economy is trashed. Tough times for the poorest of the poor I may add; much of the middle class has no clue.

However, I'm more concerned about Human Rights and individual rights. When neighbors are paranoid about each other and folks who 'have' feel the need to live behind walls because they fear the 'have-nots' ... the society collapses. We destroy ourselves. Something no foreign power can ever do as effectively.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with all this. I can relate somewhat to money issues. Please though, don't put a dollar value on your life. You are worth so much more than money. I understand how finances can stress you out, but there is no dollar amount worth the beautiful light you bring to this world. Vent, rant and rave all you want here. Yes. I hear you about your son. I have a friend I'd take a bullet for so I would feel the same way too. I don't understand some of the idiots in Washington. Does anyone?

Our age group went through some very specific events (JFK, MLK, RFK, Kent St., Viet Nam, Jim Crow, etc.) and it is hard to hear some of the rhetoric coming out of the national capitol. My mother, who's 84, feels as if everything her generation fought for is becoming unraveled.

I share your despair. But ... the sun will come out tomorrow (really, in Kansas it will! Zero but sunny in the morning.).

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that the election is over. I'm a little upset that the Democrats have said that impeachment is off the table. They have a duty to investigate, and they have said they will. But they should turn up more than enough evidence to impeach the whole crowd. At the very least, though, they can put the brakes on the destructive steamroller of this awful Bush administration!
