Here's the boring stuff, a bunch of statistics: I took my first breath in November of 1973. I graduated high school in May, 1992 and met my future wife earlier that same year. I attended college, but earned no degree. My wife and I were married in November, 1997 and parted in November, 2007. As for myself, I've no intent to seek other relationships. When I took the vows, I meant them. I joined WDC in May of 2006 and was named a PA in 2007 (much to my surprise.) Peruse my work and enjoy. I'll post on it and current projects in later entries. |

Round two of the Ordinary Things Contest has been judged and prizes awarded except for first place. The author has been notified and I await her prize choice. I find judging this contest fun and I thank all those who entered this month for making this round successful. I also thank Earl for his contribution in increasing the number of entries. Maybe we can hook up again this way in the future. Round three will open May first with another ordinary thing to think about. |

Of course it can happen! Why am I writing it here? I have little else to say in terms of writing right now. I'm getting blog update reminders, so I may as well. It was a 5.2 in southeast Illinois an had strong impact as far away as St. Louis, Louisville and Chicago. Apparently it woke some people up, but I wasn't one of them. This was a matter of WHEN, not IF, it would happen. |

I am proud of my niece Emma. Soon she receives her first communion. I could cry, but I shouldn't. I'll rust myself and we don't have the oil can! I've seen the dress she will be wearing. My mom made it and it is beautiful! |

My Contest, Ordinray Things, Opened for its second round yesterday. I am already receiving entries. Other members are spread the word about it through activities and contests that they run as well. My thanks to them as this helps ensure that I well receive numerous entries for this month's challenge. The banner below is a link for those interested. |

Last night, I commenced the first draft of Chapter 5 of Life for Life. I still don't have a better name than that. With the language I created that first shows up in this chapter, making sure to remember using it in the right places will make the writing more difficult. I hope to write at least a page each day longhand. It'll make other things more difficult to do onsite, but I'll still get them done! |

The first round of the ordinary things contest has been judged and prizes awarded. Most participants were happy with the ruling and I am glad of that. I am really going to enjoy running this thing. Whether or not I cry for help in later rounds will depend on how popular the contest gets. This month's winner:

I have even more reason to be happy. The lost section of manuscript from my novel has resurfaced. It's the original longhand first draft! Yes, I use the archaic method od pen and paper when writing first drafts. Making improvements is easier when I can read imy own work. Sounds like I review myself doesn't it? All that time it was right under my nose. |

I finally bought a new MS Word program today as part of an office suite. I expected it to be able to open and work with previously created word documents, but for some reason it doesn't. |

Ordinary Things contest round one has now closed and entered the judging phase. While qualifying decisions have been made since the first entry was submitted, now I have to decide how these works compete with one another. More importantly, I have to decide on a winner. Wish me luck! I may need it. |

I've lately come to think that I could probably write a beginner's pamphlet using only what I've forgotten about form poetry. The problem with that theory is that some of the information therein would go out of the beginner's realm. |
