My mind in shuffle mode

MY MIND — ALWAYS IN SHUFFLE MODE.

Greetings fellow Earthlings,

I'm Sandy aka Blüeyez. I've lived most of my 54 years right here in the beautiful state of Idaho, 29 of them with my husband and best friend, Sam. The past few years have brought new discoveries of the many treasures hidden in the quietness of empty-nest living.

I have a huge love of the high desert and mountains, near where we live. If I can lose myself in nature, peace finds me and I'm most rewarded. I'm a fair-weather person though, thriving in summer and withering in winter.

I work part-time as a beautician, while playing a part-time poet here on WDC. Poetry is a big part of my leisure time. I read it, write it, think it and much to my amazement, I sometimes find myself speaking in perfect iambics.

I write mostly for the enjoyment, but also for the purpose of appeasing an ever-restless mind. I find the more I open my mind's eye to life and possibilites, the more inspiration I find for creating my poems.

WOW! I can't believe all of this, Sandy. It's not like all three of them were swamped with customers just then! I think this proves a deep theological principle: now and then you'll meet an utter a-hole. And every once in a while, you might meet three in one day!

Tim tells me NEVER to treat a person who comes in the shop lightly. Maybe they take up 15 minutes and order a quarter's worth. But who say's they won't tell a freind what a freindly and helpful shop they discovered. Time and time again, Tim bends over backwards for a "non-profitable" customer, only to see them back later with a great piece of business.

I hate reviews like that. I've had one that has said glowing remarks and could find nothing wrong...and then give it 3-stars. Makes you wounder if those folks know what they are doing. I've been in WDC long enough (Jan 2004) to not let it bother me....well that's not quite right. Even now it gets me a little steamed...I just don't let it last.

I'd review your piece for you...but, I'm inept when it comes to poetry. I know well enough to leave it alone.

I also understand these four, and wouldn’t want to change you in any way. These are the things that define you.

There is not an iota of ANYthing in your positive list that I don’t affirm. These three are most significant to me, because I don’t have them as strongly as you do.

3. I am trustworthy to a fault
5. I am a non-conformist
12. I'm honest

Here are a couple more observations of mine. You are diligent. You are a detail person, and you can help people on some of the little things (and big things). You have a very strong sense of right and wrong, and you have a desire to put things right. You care deeply.

Wow...that is sad that someone is just reviewing for numbers, I guess, and not benefiting at all from what they are reading. It's one reason I do not care for the review tool. Templates limit and distract me from saying what I feel. If I use a template, I find I don't have to think very much, just routinely answer the questions. But when I write down what I feel without structure after I read something, I think I give a better review. It may not be as long and wordy as others, but it's always the truth

We got the news last night in a series of e-mail pictures from Shannon that she is engaged.

Russ proposed to her while they were hiking on top of the Sandia Mountains, out of Albuquerque. First she sent pictures of the view from atop the mountain, then she sent a picture of her "favorite view". It was a picture of the beautiful ring on her finger. I'm so thrilled for her.... she is a very happy girl right now. She wants a summer wedding, but since they are in the process of a move from Albuquerque to Seattle in the next month, she's not sure if things will be settled enough to get a wedding planned for this summer. We might be waiting until next summer... which would be a good thing since I didn't know quite how to tell her we spent her wedding money on a motor home! haha

We can always hope she doesn't want to stick with tradition where the bride's parents pay for the wedding. Maybe they'll start a new tradition where the groom himself pays for everything. Yeah... that works for me. He's loaded... especially now. He's got the best treasure of all.... he's got Shannon.
