Freelance writing is wonderful work. All you need is an account with PayPal. http://paypal.com and an account with oDesk. http://odesk.com and that is it. Take the oDesk test so you can bid on jobs. Take several of the tests on oDesk for English language and writing. Also take tests on email etiquette and phone skills.

Once you have taken the tests and have your odesk portfolio set up, look through their job posts and take a few of the article writing jobs that do not last long. Most of these freelance jobs are fixed rate jobs and not hourly. Once you get two or even three under your belt you will have three positive feedbacks and jobs will literally come to you.

At the moment, I have more work than I can possibly do. The entire process I described above took me less than two weeks.
