I've been around WDC for a bit over two years now. I have learned a lot and am still learning about all the neat things on the WDC site. Yet I still find it a bit scary. Since the WDC has writers and reviewers from all over the world. Sometimes I'm not sure how to write a review for a particular piece. I don't want to upset anyone, just help if I can. I'm no expert when it comes to editing, yet have discovered by letting someone you trust read your tales or articles for possible mishaps.

I rarely call incorrect spelling or missed punctuation errors. That makes it sound as if the author did something wrong. I know how easy it is to over look simple miss typos. I'm really good at this.

The cute ladybug at the end was created by my daughter, Karen. SHe's a graphic designer and artist. The ladybug is purple because that's my favorite color. It kind of look like a wee jigsaw puzzle, that's because I love putting together jigsaw puzzles. It was something I did with my mom as a kid.

I hope your experience with the WDC is a good one.

*ConfettiV* *ConfettiP* *ConfettiB*I am now a co-judge for Alice’s Curiosity Shop Contest. Stop by and take a peek, maybe something on the prompt list shall tickle your fancy and inspire a tale or poem.

I'm honor to have been asked. I just hope I do a good job since I've never this anthing like this before.

I'm seriously thinking about remving this blog from the WDC. I'm not much of a blogger and don't always know what to say. Sure I could gripe everytime my muse failed to put me into a creative mood or brag about how many tales I wrote in a month. I don't really like doing either.

I have had a few minor accomplishments by getting three wee items published, but that was years ago. I did take a long detour from my writing and only started taking a serious interest in it since January of 2010 when I found this site and joined up.

It took me over a year to get the courage to write my first contest entry and try my luck. I have been writing contests entries since then. I write one whenever the prompt inspires me or I can find the contest I love to enter. There's several I'm faithful too, yet the contests are always run monthly even though the contest page says it's a monthly contests.

In a few contests, I was the only entry and that made me feel as if I jinxed the contest somehow.

So at the moment I'm just poking along.

I just entered my tale, Death By Flowers in the Classic Story Contest and entered my tale, Snow Dragons in Boy Have I Got A Story For You! I need to revise Shadow Wisp for the Supernatural Writing Contest, and write Sinister Time for the Twisted Tales Contest. Plus I need to write a tale for the Supernatural Sub-genre contest. DreamTime Dragon and New Again Short Story haven‘t posted new prompts yet.

Another month has slipped by. I'm happy with what I got done this month with my writing. I could have been more productive, yet sometimes I just don't care anymore.

I have updated my Asking For Review file. It contains the names and bitem numbers of all my tale on this site. It can be found in my port if anyone is interested.

I final completed my tale, Shadow Wisp, yet I'm not sure that it's quite right. I shall post it to my port and ask for a few reviews before posting it to a contest. It's a 1st draft and hasn't been edited.

This tale was difficult for me to write. I had a good idea for the tale, yet just can't seem to get it to come together just right. Perhaps I need to rethink the plot and tweak it somehow.

In the meantime, I shall wrote on a tale for the Twisted Tales contest.

I just uploaded Lady Vamp to the Supernatural-Sub-genre contest. I have a tale called Leprechaun Lover for the Paradise Cove. It's a wee bit on the naughty side. I'll be uploading it in a few days after I reread it for mishaps and make any corrections needed.

Once again I find my muse is giving me a hard time. I think I discovered the problem with my tale, Shadow Wisp. I'm trying to write it from a male lead, which is something I've never done before. I guess deep down, I'm terrified that this character won't come off as a male. Anyone got any ideas about this.

Once again another raid is underway. It's a member to member raid for the Supernatural Group. It seems as if I'm invisible on WDC. I rarely get any reviews even when one of the groups I belong to hold a member to member raid. Once in a while I get a review from someone I wrote a review for.

I get most of my reviews from the contests I enter. At least one judge reads then writes me a review for my entry.

I know this sounds like I'm feeling sorry for myself and that I'm a cry baby. Yet I do feel a bit neglected. I would stop writing reviews but I like to have gps to give to my groups when they need help. Or donate a few to some the contests I enter.

I just finished a review raid for the CSFS yesterday and began a member to member raid for the SUpernatural Group that start yesterday, April 11 and shall run until April 21st. This is going to be a long raid. Plus The WDC Power Reviewers have a raid planned, too. Boy are my fingers going to be tired and my wee eyes blood shot from reading and then writing that many reviews.

I have been noticing that many of the contests on the site are having trouble getting WDC members to try their luck. Perhaps if the person running the contests changed their contest from once a month to every other month it would be easier to put something together.

I realize that having a short time frame for the contests teach the writers to work within a deadline. That may be okay if ou're writing a newspaper clip where all you need to do is reporter just the facts.

Creating a new tale off the top of your head requires a bit more thinking and planning time. Once I decide which contests I want to enter, coming up with a story idea isn't hard usually. I get my idea down, create the characters to go with the tale, then hit the wall so to speak. I have trouble starting the first draft or completing it even though I know what I want to write.

*UmbrellaB*Last month I was on a roll and my darling wee muse allowed me to be extremely creative. This month it seems as if my muse decided to take a vacation without telling me.

*UmbrellaP*I have three stories in the works, for two all I need to do is write the 1st draftm yet am having trouble. The 3rd one needs character sketechs as well as the 1st draft.

*UmbrellaV*I realize it's only the 9th of April & there's still plenty of time to get inspired.

I've decided that instead of using all my writing time in the mornings to write reviews I'll spend that time working on new tales. Most evenings during my writing time, I usually don't feel creative so I'll write my reviews durng this time. That way I can create new tales and still write a few reviews.

It seems that one of our fearless leader is a prankster who's about three years old. It must be nice to have that kind of time on his hands. I'm sure it takes awhile to go through the WDC site and make all the wee changes he made. I wish I had that kind of time to play around with.

I guess I've lost my sense of humor in my old age.

I'm rather proud of myself. I accomplished everything I wanted on this site for the month of March. I just uploaded the last contest entry to the contest page it was written for. I hate bragging on myself, because I was raised that bragging on oneself wasn't polite. Oh well. It seems I've picked up a bad habit. LOL.

One week of March left. I have been a busy wee beaver. I wrote 4 new tales for 4 different contests. Plus I reread and fited any errors I spoted in 5 of my old tales in my port. I'm working on #6. I intend to spend this last week of March rereding each tale and making any necessary changes before I post them to the contest I wrote the tale for.

I only hope that April can be a s productive as March has been.

I'm back using my favorite color -- PURPLE. I know using caps on the web is considered screaming, yet I don't know the reason behind it.

I feel good at this point in this month. I have 3 tales waiting to be reread to find mishaps before I enter them into the different contests I wrote them for. I'm working on a 4th one, yet I'm not sure I can get it finished to enter it in the contest I'm writing it this month, but if I understand the rules I should be able to enter it next month without changing the content.

I'm working on my third contest entry for the month. I've finished the character sketches this morning and began writing the tale. I sort of hit a wall so I wrote the remainder of the tale in stick sentences to be flesh out before the end of the mont, so I can have time to reread it, and fix any mishaps I spot. Usually I'm not this creative in a month. I always find several prompts every month that inspire me. I usually can write character sketches for the prompt, yet the words just won't flow to create the tale. I don't know what's keeping me from writing the tale. Fear perhaps? Lack of confidence, for sure. Perhaps I need to get away from fantasy for awhile or add a mystery twist to my tales.

I really can't believe that I have found enough things to be writing my 140th blog entry. Sharing my private thoughts and opinions has never been my thing. I've always been pretty much of a loner. More due to circumstance than wanting to be alone. I've always have had trouble making friends. Sure kids talked to me at school, yet I was never invited to hang with them after school. Enough of the pity party.

So far this month, I have reread and fixed the mishaps in three of my tale here on WDC. Even those this tales have been reviewed by others and I have reread them more than once, I still found a few minor mishaps.

My contest entries are coming along okay, I have one tale waiting to be reread and all the mishaps fixed, I may even get one or two more entries wrote in time, yet I won't hold my breather until I do. In most cases, it's not that the prompt doesn't inspire me, they do or I don't waste time trying to write a tale. My biggest problem is figuring out who's POV to write from. And to be perfectly honest I'm afraid the tale won't be good enough to show to the contest judges. This is silly, considering some of my tales have won 1st, 2nd & 3rd place on at least once occasion each.

Time to quit stalling and begin working on my latest entry.

I received a nice surprise when Iogged onto WDC this morning. I discovered that I had won third place Dragon Rider in eyestar's DreamTime Dragon Contest. Poetry isn't my best writing medium, I give it a try when the prompt inspires me. I never thought I would win a prize for a poem I wrote.

I found 7 contest this month that interest me. I already posted an entry to one of them. I have an idea for the other 6, yet how many of them will bare fruit, I can't say for sure. I'm going to try my best this month to get a tale written for an many of the remaining 6 as I can.

I just posted my tale, Tainted Garden to the Supernatural Sub-genre contest. I was afraid I wasn't going to make the deadline, yet I did. During the month of March I intended to go back through my port and fix any and all mishaps I can find. I will enter any of the contests I follow if the prompt inspires me.
