Have I Really Been Here Seven Years?

I'm not entirely sure, but I think this is the last entry for this blog. Being my 250th entry, I think that is all that is allowed for blogs. I could be wrong though.

Anyway, we leave the day after tomorrow on holiday. Are we packed and ready to go yet? Nope. Doing that tomorrow night and it won't take long. Getting the kids to put their suitc...[Read Full Post]

Summer Draws Nigh.....

I've decided to conduct an experiment this summer. I am forgoing jeans in favour of skirts and dresses just to see if they're more comfortable. So far, I'm a month into it and the answer seems to be yes. Another plus is that I feel prettier when I wear skirts and dresses (and less like a slob). The true test will be in July and August when t...[Read Full Post]

Last Weekend

Last weekend was a busy one for me and the children. Saturday found us at Blanchard Springs Caverns with Laura and Julie. My own two have been there before but it'd been years and they'd forgotten about it (well, they WERE rather young at the time). We had a lovely 2 1/2 hour drive up to that part of the state. Along the way, we saw evidence of a...[Read Full Post]

A Bicycle Built for...Me

Charlie loves "Twilight".

*sighs*

Another convert....

We've been having some bleh weather lately. Which really sucks because the land has gone all green and lavender and fushcia with spring. I watch it outside the window as the rain blows in sideways. The wind rumbles our metal roof, making me think it's going to take flight an...[Read Full Post]

Twilight.....not for everyone

For being the second day of spring, it certainly doesn't feel like it. It's one of those grey, overcast, sort of afternoons. Every once in a while, it starts sprinkling. So where am I? At the library, online.

Last night was the release of the movie "Twilight" on DVD. I even contemplated going to one of the shindigs that was being held at our loca...[Read Full Post]

I Go Out Walking

Random Things I Adore:

*mid-calf skirts that swish around my legs
*hot cocoa with whipped cream, especially on a chilly winter day
*toasty warm kitchens with coffee brewing and kitties purring
*steam-filled bathrooms after a lovely hot shower on chill winter mornings
*russet oak leaves on the forest floor
*Keeble Fudge Stripe cookies, all chocola...[Read Full Post]

Enchanting Blogs I Adore

I've always been a blog reader, however sporadically (and depending on my access to a pc/internet). Lately I've found some really good ones over at blogspot. One is called "Into the Hermitage". The young lady that writes it seems to lead the most fascinating life.

She lives in the UK with her husband in a big truck (or lorry) they've converte...[Read Full Post]

Meh.

I finally quit smoking! Go me!!

My last cigarette was January 31 at around 12:30pm. I haven't smoked since. Can't say I haven't been tempted, but I've been steadfast. It was just my time to quit.

Just recently got our converter box for the digital TV hooked up. It's a complete difference from the old analog reception we used to get! I rea...[Read Full Post]

Busy-ness

Well, it's been a rather busy week for me. And I didn't have to chase anymore batter-dipped cats. I turned 35 on Friday, got my kitten neutered (he recovered rather quickly, surprisingly), and got my hair cut. Now for most of y'all, getting your hair cut probably isn't a big deal. But I'd been growing mine out for about four years.

It was do...[Read Full Post]

And We Shall Call Him...Muffin Batter!

You ever chase a kitten covered in muffin batter? They're kinda hard to catch, aren't they?

Junior, our 6 month-old black kitten, was doing his maniac run through the house last night. Normal stuff for an energetic kitty. I was in the kitchen whipping up a late night snack of muffins for the kids. Had the batter loaded into the tin and everyth...[Read Full Post]
