Things look to be improving on the social front for Journey which can only be a good thing. I hope she enjoys all these occasions.

I'm sure Grace's family and the cats don't mind Journey's fascination with them at all. It's natural for kids to be interested in animals, particularly if they can't have their own. My son's landlord doesn't allow pets either, but they do have some fish. Not quite as interesting but still.

You're so thoughtful planning the kid's parties so carefully.

Here's my take on the Journey/friends thing: She's not there yet. The word "friends" does not mean to her what it does to you. To her, friends are the kids she plays BESIDE not WITH. They are the kids she sits with in school or sits next to in the reading circle. They are the kids whose faces she sees every day. Period. And she's okay with that.

It's AWESOME that you're okay with that, too.

I still have my son's first teeth in a little wooden pot I bought especially for that purpose. He's 31 this year! Mum's find it hard to part with sentimental items.

As you say they are all full young and few have developed social skills. The friends we generally keep are from later life when we're more interested in others and able to discriminate.

So kids got their report cards for this quarter. Good grades abound! Journey's getting a lot of proficients, which I'm very proud of. There are still a few "In Process" ones, but she's getting a lot of what she's learning, which is good to hear. I'm very proud of her! We'll be getting her IEP goals sheet back today, to tell us how she's doing on that as well.

Ryan did perfectly, once more. He got straight A's again for this quarter as well! Hopefully they'll be holding another Honor Roll assembly and I can go and see him get another Principals Honor Roll ribbon for his good work. I'm so proud of him!
