I've been blogging all through my days without knowing that it was blogging; although, this isn't necessarily the only thing I do without knowing what I'm doing.

Since I write on anything that's available around me, my life has been full of pieces of scribbled paper flying about like confetti. I'm so happy to finally have a permanent place to chew the fat.

So far my chewing the fat is on and off.

Maybe, I lack teeth.

It is a curse. It needs a lot of anti-hex power to undo it.
Surely, "knowing who" doesn't help in itself, but it is the first step.
In your words, "no longer trying to attain their approval" must be achieved whether they are dead or alive.
But I am looking at it this way. You were very young, very vulnerable, and very impressionable. It left huge scars that still bleed. Yet, you still disproved them. You made something of yourself, and IMHO, something great and very valuable. You must hang on to your successes, not your failures and not other people's opinions/words.
After all, parents, when they talk to you about their children's sensibilities, can be wrong, too. I know I have been wrong in assessing some of my children's negatives and positives, and believe me, I tried my hardest raising my two kids. What is inside a human being is impossible to detect.

Now both of my parents harboring those statements are dead. I feel a certain relief at no longer trying to attain their approval, but the inherent insecurity, especially as a man incapable of truly loving, is a real part of who I am.

I know I am a competent piano teacher, but all it takes is one parent who tells me I'm not in tune enough with her child's sensitivities to be an efficient teacher for the doubt to return at a fortissimo. And that's enough to make me forget that for the other 30 students this year, I am sufficiently in tune with their personalities to do what's necessary to help them learn.

I don't like hiding things if the relationship is a true one, especially if those things have to do with the relationship. Unsaid things, yes, maybe, and only if not to hurt the significant other's feelings. Even in such a case, I can't stand for or forgive any meticulous effort to conceal those.
Being upfront is healthier for our relationships and our bodies, as deception requires too much effort to maintain, and it drains energy away from our immune systems, according to Robert Trivers, and evolutionary biologist.
Btw, the dream was for real and it surprised me because the idea of muse was always foreign to me.

I had a brief, lovely chat with a woman named Summer this weekend, about this energy and life force! She uses it to make her art, painting on silk. Silk, she says, contains lots of energy because of how it is made, the silkworms, etc. Fascinating!

Hmm, the usage in English would seem to be related to both "hyper-" and "super-". Urban-wiki-something-or-other says its usage in English originated with Nietzche's Übermensch. I'm sure we use the prefix in ways Germans wouldn't dream of. But as the saying goes, "Anything that works!"

I doubt it's the type-setter...it's the EDITOR. Either they speed read, or they assume Grisham, King, or even Erma Bombeck know how to do a great job. WRONG!

Remnants of Ida...tail winds and rain. Great! I love this wind. It cools the place and makes the AC obsolete.

It seems the tougher my life gets, the harder I push. I'm sure I'll turn into jelly, soon. Between hubby's tiny operation, the taking out of a mole gone bad on his back, and my own adjustment to a blood-thinning medicine, I still wrote quite a bit for NaNo. To be fair, last few chapters were exciting to write, and I didn't have to brood over them. At this time, I'm at 21,084 words, and the good thing is, today I'm home. I am hoping to near the midpoint mark. Crossing my fingers...

At this juncture, I discovered I have two novels in one. The real story is Rosie's, the mother. But Maya's, the daughter's, voice is so fresh and loud. I am thinking...thinking...although I'll leave things as they are and continue on. I hate to say, maybe later, because I know later will never come. Maybe I can rearrange the chapter order...That I'll do for sure, but I haven't figured out how to make Rosie rise over Maya... Btw, I don't like Rosie as a person all that much, but I really like Maya. Maybe I'll dream about this or something.

While wrestling with NaNo and my real life, I wrote my next newsletter, which makes me happy. I also read Famous Writers School by Steven Carter to the halfway point while in the doctor's waiting room. A really good novel most of us may find close to our hearts. I'll probably finish it sometime by the end of the week, if I can steal time from NaNo.

Before I write some more, I'll go bake a bread and a cake. It's amazing how uplifting food is.
