This month has been unusual for me. I had surgery on August 31, from which it took a week (five days) to recover. Then I returned to work four days following Labor Day, celebrated on Monday, September 7 here in the U.S.A. After that, I took vacation, travelling from Florida to Alabama to Ohio and back during the next two weeks, arriving at home on September 25 for a final three days of work. I worked a mere seven days all month.

If retirement is anything like this September, count me in.

Enjoy the rest of your week. God speed!

My parents and I returned to sunny St. Pete early Friday evening. They took off early this morning for an eight-hour drive back to their Sweet Home in Alabama.

Vacation was great, but tomorrow reality strikes again at 8:30 a.m.

Hope you're having a fabulous September. When will the temperature drop, again? I don't know; go ask your friend. (Sorry for that little Dr. Seuss attack... just couldn't help myself.)

More soon! I bet you just can't wait?!? Take care to comb your hair; and we'll pickup again a few days hence.

Hi, all. I'm on vacation, but I'll be back online come Sunday. Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful month of September -- the crisp cool air, the turning leaves. God bless. We'll talk again soon.

Today is the first day of my "official" ten-day vacation from work. I spent the day yesterday driving with my parents from my home in St. Petersburg to their home in Daphne, Alabama.

I'm on my baby sister's computer just to give a brief update. Hope your week started well.

         Adios amigos and amigas.

I remember what happened this day in 2001. Let us never forget --- the innocent lives lost and the destruction perpetrated by evil terrorists without conscience.

I'm off to my post-op. appointment. Everything was benign, and it was a smooth clean surgery.

         More later...

Hi, all. Both of my grandsons have artwork on www.artsonia.com. I want to include links to their work here so you can take a peek, should you wish. You may wish to copy the links into your browser (one at a time, of course =) if ctrl+click doesn't take you there.

http://www.artsonia.com/Tyler8476 --- Tyler is seven, soon to be eight. He is in the Second Grade this year.

http://www.artsonia.com/Cody3825 --- Cody is five, soon to be six. He started Kindergarten this year.

I am including links to their work here because www.writing.com celebrates creativity, as does www.artsonia.com. I'm a proud grandma. =) Please don't feel compelled to review their work. However, I hope you will be pleased to see each unique display of talent. Maybe their pictures will inspire you.

Two more days to work; then I'm off for vacation (ten days plus two weekends). Yippee!

Here is to a great week and an even greater weekend! Cheers.

Since my surgery, fashbacks... 'er, I mean, hot flashes have returned to visit again. The whole drama takes a little getting used to --- especially since I thought I had moved on and left them for the next unwary soul.

I've had an uneventful Labor Day. I am so weird. I make friends... actually praying the Lord to bring friends into my life. Then shyness, self-preservation, hibernation creeps into my psyche and I avoid them. What am I afraid of? Sincerely and subconsciously, I feel threatened --- What if the friendship goes sour?, which shockingly makes me want to kick my own butt!

Don't mind me, I'm just the girl next door.

I have made friends with a unique, warm, embracing and diversely creative bunch at my local Starbucks, including staff and precious patrons. All of whom I'm coming to know through our mutual enjoyment of a good cup of coffee and sharing --- lighthearted and friendly, yet deep and profound communication.

I'm reminded How great is our God... He takes those who are alone and sets them in families.

Have a confoundedly creative, warm and adventurous Sunday for:

Great is our God, and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God on the mountain of His holiness.
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth,
is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city
                   of the great King.

I am recovering nicely from female surgery --- though I am now having hot flashes! Since the surgery I ask, Are you hot or is it me? It's me every time. I am anxious to be back to normal --- able to take a bike ride whenever I want, workout, etc. --- but would rather take it slow than risk complications or a hernia!

I trust everyone has had a pleasant week. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some cool weather!

I had my female surgery on Monday and am on the mend. However, my throat is sore again this morning and my right shoulder hurts. Once I get a shower, I'm hoping to feel significantly better.

         Have a delightful day.
