This is not a Blog about writing! (I already have one of those.)

This is a blog about a journey I am taking with illness. I have recently been diagnosed with Cancer. My goal is honest therapy as I progress through, and beyond this new reality in my life. I hope that, somewhere along the way you will find some words that will help you too.

While this is, in fact, an interactive Blog, I hope that you will scroll slowly down this page. For you see, the front of this Blog IS my journey. The entries are conversations that are held along the journey.Yes, there is a lot on it--before actually getting to the Blog entries. But, I hope that by the objects and words which appear before the Blog itself, you might come to understand just a little bit about me, and my journey, and some truly amazing friends who have agreed to journey with me. I hope that you, too, will choose to accompany me on my walk--through the Valley.

coumadin is what caused my wife's knee to experience internal bleeding. A test a the ER indicated her level was far above maintenance level. They had to literally take her off of it and I'm surprised your doctor still has you on it.
The blood they drained from her knee had the consistency of chocolate syrup. Not good. Praying the Lord will be your healer and that there is going to be a turn around soon and very soon.

I think it's commendable that you are concerned about the things you tell us about in this entry when you are engulfed in the pain that cancer brings.

I want to say that everyone won't die, it will all depend on when Christ returns. For those still alive at that moment in time, they will meet him in the air and be changed, after those that have died in Christ rise up first.

Your faith brought you this far and your faith is still there, it is just hidden by your pain. Keep your eyes on Him and he will see you through the specific torture you are going through.

As far as the costs of everything related, hopefully your loved ones won't be forced to pay the whole bill involved with all of that. My husband spent three months in the hospital. Medicaid paid for all but one week, the hospital brought that amount from 55,000 down to 12,000 something more palatable.

Praying that a cure will come, or the healing you need to beat this thing and continue your journey with your family.

My mother takes coumadin. Nasty stuff. If it isn't part of the solution could it be part of the problem? A little bit of both? I'm lucky to only be on one med ...and a relatively safe one at that. Best to you and your efforts ...including the political ones.

The gift of having lost most everything was it gave me the opportunity to decide again what was most important to me. I'm sure not everyone agreed with my choices. But it wasn't for them to choose. Yes, one decides what matters.
