Sorry you've been feeling so drained -- I can relate! It can be so easy to get "stuck" in life.I don't know the answers to your questions but really hope you feel much better and more inspired soon.

How awesome is it to be able to look back and enjoy what you see. Even the bad then is so much easier then the bad now. Children today don't know how good they have it, use to be a term I heard when I was young. Now it seems I find myself saying how
much easier it was back then.
I hope you enjoy your reunion and that 20 years is enough to catch up on the fun. :)

I love reading about people's perceptions from school -- they are all so varied - well, just like people. I could not wait to get out of my small town, now one of the biggest treats is going back and spending time with my parents on their farm, revelling in the easiness and what seems stress free environment. I wonder if given the chance, how many of us would change what we did, who we were - or would we take the same path.

I like. The main character has demons and seeks to excise them from out of her soul. You refer to this as an excerpt, but I believe it is a complete story as it is. The character is so well developed in these few words that the reader (me) feels as if he knows her.

Kids everyday is an adventure with them.

What an interesting entry about dreams. I often have dreams about running. If I could run as fast I can in dreams, I would be an olympic runner. LOL!

That's a dark place your thoughts are going to. I get the feeling of a light, dream-like sensation of suffocation, of a quiet helplessness and a tightness in your chest. Most of all, the anger and fraustration.

I've lost people close to me - although I've not had to stand by and watch as they destroy themselves by addiction (unless smoking and cancer counts.) I do however know the dark place where you feel you need to shut yourself away, because it hurts to lose someone you love.

I'll only say one thing. No matter how you're feeling, and how it's justified, don't lock yourself up and throw away the key. You can't be fully alive if you can't let yourself reach out to others, and love, and grieve. All part of the painful experience that is human life. Both beautiful and terrible. As for the person who is spiralling down - is there nothing to be done - or are you not seeing anything to be done?


Also, sorry I went all super serious preachy there.
