Over the years I have sporadically attempted to keep a journal. Each attempt has failed miserably. I think they expired because I established rules that were too ridgid for them. So, this attempt will bring with it very few rules.





There are many incredibly kind and thoughtful people in WDC. One of them is Sarah . Out of the blue she sent me this flower gift. It reminds me of the Bluebonnets of Texas. Thanks, Sarah. And, I must not forget the very talented katherine76 who created the flower...thank you.




Well, it appears that my blog is going to the dogs. It aslo seems as if folks have gotten me pegged as a dog lover....they're right. Our very own Anyea has gifted me with this Valentine card. Now I ask you, "How sweet is that?" Thanks, Anyea





I have been fortunate to encounter many generous and kind people during my tenure in WDC. Debi Wharton is one of them. She gifted me with the following sig. It shows how sensitive and caring she is. It also shows that she read some my entries. She'll never know how much I appreciate the gift and the attention to my blog.

I must have a strong urge to be part of a parade as it's very rarely I read anything without leaving a comment.

Those stats just confuse and perplex me so I tend to never check them out. Maybe I should then I can see how many watchers are hanging about.

Oh those moral dilemmas. I'm having one now, have made my decision and am totally fine with it. I didn't wonder long and won't again.

I totally agree with the three comments before me, and with your well written, quite tactfully worded rant.

An interesting topic Dan Darlin' and I'm sure lies of omission and little white ones are often necessary to avoid bigger problems. Great big whoppers? Well, that's up for debate depending on circumstances.

I look forward to reading your story later and I promise I will as I always enjoy your writing. If I have a senior moment and forget, don't hesitate to give me a nudge.

I just looked up "one-star drive-by anonymous rating" in the WDC dictionary and it means "I'm totally jealous that I didn't write this!"

I know how annoying this is Dan Darlin' but rest assured I think it's happened to us all.

One reason why I went through my folder and altered every piece to the option 'Requires review with rating.' Time consuming but no more anonymous reviews.

Everything i've read of yours is nearer five stars than most so yes, a rant is justified, but try to relax in your hammock and forget it now.

I definitely understand the anger and frustration, Dan. The 1-star drive-by anonymous rating seems to happen more than it should around here. I don't know if I've read this particular piece of yours (I've read some of your port in the past....I'll check today), but sometimes 'reviewers' give the lowest reviews possible simply because they don't like the subject matter. If it's a political or spiritual/Godly piece and it's against their personal beliefs, etc. It goes without saying that that's not the way to review someone's writing technique, but I see it all the time. People can't seem to separate their personal feelings from the craft of writing.

I love the quote from Roots author Alex Haley: "Your attitude is everything. Believe in yourself and trust your material." I hope you don't let one jerk upset you too much, Dan. And, yes....good rant! Haha.
