Hi there, Quizmo and Gen. I'm older than you, quite settled, and I still feel kind of like you. Maybe this is along the lines of "I am not aging" tantrum or "do not go gently into that good night..."
I look at it this way. If you hesitate thinking it's too late to do this, five years from now, you'll either be where you are now or a licenced librarian. Library work is great; although, the pay stinks. Still, it depends on who hires you.

It seems so many of us feel the same way at this age. I read an entry yesterday of a gentleman who expressed the exact same concerns as you in almost the same words. Strange. I am 49. I think this is called "middleage". I don't know. It's just nice to run into someone like yourself with the same questions, the same desires, and the same hopes. Thank you again!
