On the Stage

Standing on the stage with every light turned off, except one spotlight beaming on me.
That one light shining so bright illuminated me brilliantly, so all in the tightly packed hall could see.
Endless rehearsal, on countless days, had come then for a light to shine from my boyhood frame,
So the audience could hear the song coheres in me to entertain.

Centre on the stage, with a microphone standing alone there with me.
Gazing into the darkness, blank blackness stared viciously back at me.
In the thick darkness could possibly have been no one in that empty blackness peeking back to see.
An anxious shake in my bones, feeling every eye focused in anticipation; the spotlight's glare on me.

The piano began to play, ushering in the song for my young voice to sing.
That song I sang so many times, it flowed from the tongue, each tone rang-out so easily.
Yet, with all eyes transfixed with ears in wait to hear, I could remember not one word to sing.
Both tongue, and mind, frozen in fright; the stage had captured me.

The song played on as I stood without a word to mutter to the crowd waiting eagerly.
Each note played on in epic silence; a vengeful quiet sorrowfully crafted by me.
As the piano finished playing, that frigid silence grew more profound.
The spotlight turned off, and quickly made tears drip from my eyes and off my chin; if only they had seen.

Lost in an endless moment; that stage-fright had crippled me.
Far gone to fright who I was, and hoped that I could be.

Gonna

Gonna go there on a Monday.
Gonna stay there til it's Sunday.
Gonna stay until I know who I should see.
Gonna live these next few days like there's nothing left to say.
Nothin I could wish for, hope, or dream.
Stay each night and day until I foster what to say.
Until I grin a smile that only she can see.

You were my only hope.
My only dream.
Like a hurt young boy,
I've lost my being.

Wished so much to be with you.
To hold your hand;
To shine bright truth.
A truth so dark without you.

What hurts the most are
Thoughts I faded from your life,
Because that is what makes you
Beauties now vibrant host.

Always know I have dreams of you
Each day I breath
When my earthly cold without you ends
I forever dream of you again.

My open hand rests in wait for yours.
Please dream one dream, again we hold each other close.

Effort

I tried hard to be.
Who I thought I'd seen.
But then looked back
I faded away.
Did you dream
Who I could have been?
Did that dream fade
Like me that day?
I'm just not who I'd thought I'd be
for you or me I say.
I don't where the light gone,
The darkness as immersed my song
I lost you in my dreams gone wrong
Surviving ain't that easy when
Darkness is so strong.

The sun does shine.
It's warmth always profound.
When the beads of sweat drip off
Hitting so hard the ground.

That flame of light is you.
When you feel lost,
Reach your hand out to do.
Hold that flame that's in your heart
To guide your budding power of you.
Shine your soul for those in the dark
Walk from the shade into a new day.
Let your tears power you
Let this life yield passions grand
Passions true, from within you.

Waned thoughts of who I was to be for you.
A world of bliss I burned to ash, embers gone so true

Smashed head and limbs, worn to callus finger tips
Grey hair frayed from beauties path.

Dreams of You

I know you bond with those who are much more rich than me.
Those with that flash of cash that does not follow me.
I tell you that my insight and my wisdom do hold a price.

My values, and integrity, are both keenly sought by others voice.
The den of kindness crafted here does not flash with cash.
But does flash that of love; tenderness the craft.

You danced once more through my dreams,
Your beauty frame, and hair of silk; your masterpiece of flesh.
I gently touched your soft skin, and felt your beauty breath.

You opened your arms to me with your sparkle that none could emulate.
In that dream you brought me back to life.
Made me feel there may be moments when you have thoughts,

Should I dare, dreams of me by you?

Simplicities Gears

I don't see how you think it could be,
Something that wasn't quite fair.

I don't know how I'd wish it was
Holding your hand in raw fear.

Dawns morning light makes it all seam just right,
The warmth of the sun glows in you there.

Passion for you makes me live a life true
To bare who I am in fault there.

Stalking the sight of a world that's not right
Makes the vision of my hallowed life clear.

None I had known or had dreamed of in toe,
Could capture simplicity's gears.

Folks waving their wand, makes the season ring fond
Because the beauty of life you do share.

Brilliant the sight is the might of your light
Dries those sad tears quickly there.

Tender your voice caged bitter no choice
Still rings out a message of care.

Your wondrous words bring a calmness to earth,
When the scared little children did dare.
