Just a Song

I will sing just a song
Let you know I'm not wrong.
Then I'll tell you that I've never seen.
The end of the rainbow;
The riches, and gold
To collect there by me.
There was just empty ground
At the rainbows end;
Just a prism beamed down upon me.
Yet in that far off land,
Where the people live grand,
And the green earth belongs
To the servants who see.
So now please clap your hands
For that passionate man,
Who has clotted each cut
As you bleed.

Did You?

Did you buy it off the lot, or did you lease it?
Did it's brightness carry you away?
Did a melody caress your eager ears?
Did you think it mattered one way or the other?
Did tiny sparks of praise light up your way?
Did the Light infuse great passion?
Did three shine in that Light as One?
Did the journey whisk away the worry?
Did the timing of it all seem quite well done?
Did you make the trip along the rainbow?
Did you bask in the bed of gold you'd won?
Did you think that new smell scent indulgent?
Did you see just around the corner?
Did you hear the running train electric come?
Did you think time was yours in that moment forever?
Did death flash a simple smile when it was done?
Did you see the lease goes long past winter?
Did you see that hope will sprout forever?

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?"

-Mary Manin Morrissey

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, 'Press on,' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

-Calvin Coolidge

Love Child

Gentle child,
Let me be with you a while,
Just let me try;
You'll see what I can be.

Quiet child,
Let me walk with you a while.
For only you I'll walk a pace behind;
All will see the queen you are to me.

Hay child,
Let me hold you for a while.
Let me be the one
That's in your dreams.

Please child,
Let me love you for a while.
Hold my beaten hand in yours
So I can see.

Child, none can ever equal,
My Passiondale for thee.

Gone Mum

I fought what's called sleep again;
Rolled in pain through all the night.
No reason for me to dream;
Without ease to feel alright.

I woke once more this morning,
Empty hope my only sight.
The angels won't believe me;
God gone mum again outright.

I should have been your lover.
Hard I prept to be your dream.
But my cold nights are horror;
Salty tears are much to real.

Cold sweat is mine forever.
I vomit more than should be.
Days are a dwindling number;
I could have been your lover.

Now God's face is mine to see;
Hallowed silence, soon I'll sleep.

Scared

Will it make you scared
If in raw manner I say to you,
Why it seems so weird;
This anguished passion's truth?

Crisp, cold frost, hangs in the air;
Warm breath seeps from you there.
That warmth enriches me where
Your sweet love holds my hand in care.

Scrunching snow shadows you,
Can you hear it as I do?
Soft footprints pace like a grand tattoo.
Cold nights to come; true love see's you.

My words taught long ago are few;
A simple verse I write for you.
On frosty day's your warmth draws near,
Your breath majestic; my life is there.

I beg you do not fear;
Has this verse made you scared?

"Do not take thought for your persons or your properties, but first and chiefly to care about the greatest improvement of the soul. I tell you that the virtue is not given by money, but that from virtue come money and every other good of man, public as well as private... The difficulty, my friends, is not in avoiding death, but in avoiding unrighteousness; for that runs faster than death."

- Socrates
