WELCOME TO MY BLOG

I joined WDC in December 2004 and have struggled with starting a blog. I made a list and it had just as many cons as I did pros. But finally I have decided to go for it.
This blog is for me, about me and really when it's all said and done~~If you visit my place and you don't like it here, you don't have to be here!
This is for me! To help me! This is my place to vent, rave, rant, cry, laugh and say whatever I need to say!
I think we all have personal truths. This blog is to help me find my personal truth, deal with my personal truths, let go of some of my personal truths and build on my personal truths!
Personal Truth are those thoughts and actions which lead to a feeling of well-being. I think there has to be accountability in order for truth to be found in a personal way. I think all means of self-discovery are valid. I hope my blog helps me with this.

Geez, finally starting to cool off here..
I can relax ~~ read and write a little.
: )

Been going to our local library and getting books to read.
I can't beleive how bored I've been on my off days, since school finished!!

Well I got to do something REALLY exciting today...I got to watch an autopsy.
It will probably be the LAST one I watch but it was a very good learning experince to see/ feel all the organs of the body. Don't worry....I won't go any to any of the details!

My next goal is to watch open heart surgery...I think that would be awesome!

Woah...Over a year since I wrote here.
WOW!!

It was a long, hard year too!
I made it through RN school. Graduated this May and passed the boards on June 23rd!
A day I will NEVER forget!

So much has happened, my home health agency couldn't utilize me as an RN, so I transferred to the hospital. Got hired on the Cardiac Step-Down Unit. This is where patients who've had a heart attack, or heart surgery come after leaving Critical Care Unit. Or they come to my unit if they have chest pain, MI etc. I am still in the process of orientating with a preceptor. So far I love it!! At times it's a little emotional because the older men remind me of my Dad, whom I lost to a heart attack in 2003. But overall I love it and all the things I am learning. I have taking some education classes for the job and have more to take.

I was going to NOT go back to school for a while BUT after weighing my pro's and con's I have actually signed up for two classes. Intro to Statistics and an on-line Business class. Both are support classes for my Bachelors. I have taken three already, so this will get me a little closer to that!! They start August 25th, one is on-line and the other is once a week for 3 hours!! So shouldn't consume my time!

The kids are about the same...older/ smarter/ cuter!! lol
Cody's 16 now and a legal driver!! Watch out Iowa!
Cailtyn turns 14 tomorrow! (She's a Cheer leading Camp right now though.)
: (

I have jumped right back in here and doing all the things I missed so much.
Reviewing, reading, creating items, judging my contests, rewarding members for their reviews and being a guest editor for the Newsletters!

So if you haven't seen me the last few days....you probably will in the next few!!
: )

this...wow...I really slacked off on witing in this.
; 0

Life is just way too busy now and the last 6 months~~I can't believe time is going SO fast.

I finished my pre-reqs for nursing, and am curently waiting to see if I get a spot in the Nursing III class.....(please pray for this to happen!) I am taking 2 online classes as I wait that will go for my BSN. A poetry class and an Anthropology class...both are easy but require lots of busy work...

So I've decided to move back to Texas...just waiting to see if it is the end of this summer or if it will be next year....depends on whether or not I get into Nursing III......either way I am ready to get out of Iowa and closer to my family....I wish I could finish school here...but both ways have advantages and disadvantages.

Kids still keeping me busy with their sports and activities.
I got Cody a moped and that helps with all the running around.

Both the kids need braces, but the orthodontist (thank goodness~one pair is expensive enough!) suggested Caitlyn wait a year because she still had teeth coming down! Cody is getting his put on next week on the 20th.

Well maybe it won't be 6 months before I make it back in here.....

time since I have had the time to write here.
School is over for a bit and I have been playing catch up!!

I ended up with an A in CompII and a B in A&P I. I was happy with both!

I start back around Jan. 20th.
I only have one more pre-req., A&P II, but since I have such a wait for Nursing III to start I am going to start on my classes for my BSN.

I know, I am a glutton for punishment!!
: )

I am pretty much ready for Christmas....my daughter and I will start cooking some of the goodies tonight!

the last few days. Have had electricians re-wiring some things and updating some of the wiring. So the electricity has been off the last few days and I have been shut up in room with our puppy...he gets so excited around people!! Studying a lot, which paid off, I made an A on my A&P Unit test last night...which is almost impossible!!
: )

My patient came home from Hospital last Friday, so I have been working all week and I picked up extra nights because the other nurse is on medical leave again!
Which being off a week and doing a 'normal' routine...sleeping at night and up during the day for a week....then going back to work all night and sleeping during the day has really got me tired and grumpy!!

Going to try and review some.
Hope you all are having a great week.

I will start Nursing 3 next year...just not as soon as I hoped.
Nursng 3 starts in the fall, so I will start it in September, 2007. Which means I won't graduate till May 2008. I wanted it to happen a little faster!! There is one more school about 35 miles from here that I am going to check and see about.

I signed up for 2 classes for the Spring Semester,7 credit hours (Jan. - May) = Anatomy &Physiology II and for a Business /Human Relations Course...which will count toward my Bachelors which is my next step after getting my RN.

Trish & Mel...as far as work paying me while patient in hospital...it is NOT going to happen. Would be nice though. They are going to pay me for an hour....since I wasn't notified and got out and went to patient's home!! Something about they had sent fa ax(on Sunday, yeah that was smart) instead of calling the After hour number/service.

And YES Mel, SE misses YOU!!!!

Hope everyone has a great day.

for not writing in here!

I went to work Sunday night, the door was locked and no one answered...come to find out my patient was in the hospital with Pneumonia.

SO I have been off since last Tuesday!
It might hurt the kid's Christmas a little...but I have the majority of it bought anyway.

I have been busy with reviewing my contests...the Newbie one for the month of October and then my weekly~which is ongoing. I am caught up though. I have my group items all caught up too and have even had time to play with my Christmas forum for my Simply Everything group! I created a crossword, a wordsearch and a quiz!!

Plus I've been studying off and on. We are on muscles now..... Classes are okay, maintaing my A & B...slowly bring the B up...yeah....I don't think I will finish the class with an A but I am going to try!

I have a meeting today with my counselor...to see what classes I am going to sign up for next semester and I hope to find out if I am going to actually start Nursing 3 ...which I better be, I have been on the list for this!! It means I would be in school full time and that I would graduate in May!!...I think = will find out today.

The kids are good. Cody started school basketball yesterday and his travelling Basketball team starts this Thursday. Caitlyn isn't doing anything at the momet..she will start Volleyball for a league next month.

Pistol, our puppy...is getting so big.
He is so smart.
Pretty much SPOILED!!!
He is potty trained...he seldom ever has an accident inside.
He has learned to sit and we are teaching him to shake hands with us now.

Off to study for a bit/ have a quiz tonight.

My daughter has decided she wants to go to any and all musicals that come here.
She is hooked!!

We had a great night.
Had dinner before hand.
Cody stayed home and watched Pistol and had the nerve to get mad at us after we gt home for singing while he was trying to watch An American Haunting!!!

Been studying most of the day.
Have an exam and a lab test Tuesday in A&P.....
I'm going to go to an open lab tomorrow at the school to study for the bones.
I counted there is a 185 that she has on the list for us to know!!!

I started watching An American Haunting but fell asleep..will finish it some time today.

Just finished and awarded My Weekly Contest.
Now I have to finish my newsletter and start on Monthly Newbie contest sometime this weekend.
