Five years! LOL I still remember the day Adriana Noir called me at work to tell me about the awesome site she found. She was staying with me at the time and I couldn't rush home fast enough to see this amazing mecca for writers that she had found. Sometimes you take things for granted. For example electricity. The power goes out and you light some candles and think the worst thing that can happen is the DVR won't record. THEN you realize that you have no heat or running water and the water makes the toilet a trick. Then you go to crawl into bed where its "warm" and realize once again that there is no electricity so NO heated mattress pad. 12hrs of this. Ohhh our first snow fall was a doozy! *Heart* Reminds us to count our blessings.

Tarps are cheap though hard to keep tied down ...Hmmmm ... room for a wood box near the fireplace? My friend had an old trunk that sat near the fireplace. It was unique and held enough wood to get things going and burn for quite a while. Just an idea. *Bigsmile*

I love that idea! We do have a most impractical light beige carpet in the room with the fireplace, so we usually don't store any wood in the room. Stupid carpet. What I'd give to rip it up and put hardwoods in!

Crockpots are such a time saver. I remember going off to work after setting it up, then came home to dinner. One time, I was so proud of me, almost smug, left for work, came home later that day, and looked forward to dinner, only to find out it was not cooked. I looked at the setting, which was on high. then traced the electrical cord and noticed that I forgot to plug it in. Total waste!

You know, I thought about you and Adri when I was reading your story. NOT because you guys are night and day *Laugh*! But because you are soul sisters who have a lifetime of friendship in your futures. Were you inspired by your own life when you wrote this? And my story? Well, it's a new novel about the character Piper Crow I explored during WDC Survivor. My final entry, btw, was about her, but I changed the name for the sake of anonymity, so voters wouldn't know I wrote it. Very excited!

I was most definitely inspired by Adri and I's close bond while I was writing this story. In fact, most of the story was wrote while Adri was visiting. I had her in tears. *Laugh* I just expected a happier tale, but sometimes you go where the muse leads. I can't tell you the number of times we have told one another not to leave us behind! Only he was blond and it wasn't a full Glasgow, just a half.
