So!

Has anyone had the pleasure of reading Trimalchio   which is basically the first draft of The Great Gatsby  ??

Still on Chapter 3, but I must say that so far, it's interesting to see the slight differences between the draft and finished version and just how important editing does to one's story.

P.S: I'm also glad Fitzgerald changed the name of the book. Trimalchio sounds so...'heavy' (but then again peeling back the layers of Gatsby, you could make the same argument for it).

Very true. Should have written "why can't 'some/more' editors be like this?' From the few I've dealt with, they seem more intent to re-write the entire story for you instead of actually working with you.

One of the greatest books in Classic Literature has got to be "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" otherwise known as the book I read so many times as a child, I wore the pages out! [Could barely hold the darn book together later on]

'Til today, it's a book that never ceases to bring a smile to my face, so in tribute to Lewis Caroll's marvelous tale of wonder, imagination and magic, here are my tributes:
