I don't usually plug stuff, except for my offsite blog, because who doesn't love food, but I could use some input and thoughts from anyone out there in W.com land. "It's snowing

Simple Saturdays with Salmon and Brioche

Did some writing for about 40 minutes (750 words). Feeling a bit better though I still tire and annoy easily. The novel is plugging along though. Might actually finish in the next few weeks.

100K. Made white chocolate coconut creams to celebrate. Now I'm going to bed.

Tomorrow begins the rest of the novel - because, of course, it's not finished.

Got sick on Wednesday. Trying to catch up on the novel. As of right now I have over 86,000 words. I've won NaNo, but the novel is going to carry into December unless I stop sleeping.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving dinner for my French in-laws. Bringing the netbook along to write while I baste the turkey. Wish me luck!

80,000 words. Finally pushing past the halfway point. I feel like I've written nothing but exposition so far.

I took a break from NaNo to make deadly cookies  . I'll have plenty of time to write tomorrow while I wait for the train.

50K and the most recent 3000 words are nothing but a jumbled ramble. At least I have the excuse that my narrator is still only a child...

I'm going to hit 40K sometime between today and tomorrow. Thinking of making fennel salad. Fennel for 40K? I could make french fries, but I need something healthy. *Laugh*

15K, flatbread and a backache. I need a more comfortable chair (or to sit up straight). Once I heal a bit I'll be blogging on my day of writing and baking!

I wouldn't have imagined you a sloucher! As a long time sufferer from back pain, I sympathize. Stretch regularly when you write for more than an hour at a time. Neck rotations -- gently! -- are good too.

I hunch over my computer when it's on my desk. Oddly enough I sit straight when it's on my lap. I'll definitely be taking some more stretching breaks - thanks for reminding me!

Word count: 5591.

NaNo Cupcakes!   I wanted to spell out NaNoWriMo, but the frosting was too liquid.

Red Velvet refers to the color of the cupcake, but sadly it seems I didn't add enough. They are still velvety!

Taking suggestions on what to make when I hit 10K words. and 25K and 50K, etc...

I'm trying red velvet cupcakes, but sadly, they're looking more brownish-purple. I'll see what happens when they bake.

If I'd included the 8 page outline I'd be way more than 3000 words!

What are red velvet cupcakes? Remember I've been here for 31 years so totally ignorant of the culinary developments during the past few decades...

Frantically trying to finish the first draft of a story before NaNo on Tuesday. I could have been writing all day, and here it is, midnight on the 31st. This is a trend with me, happened last time I NaNo'd or had any sort of other deadline as well...

It's a different story that I started after I finished all of the NaNo preparation. Now I'm caught in the middle of the story and it's turning out to be longer than expected. I really don't want to have to leave it unfinished tomorrow!

Suddenly discovering two things. The first is that I know nothing about the continent of South America or it's history. The second is that my schooling was horribly in adequate due to it's fear of revolution, socialism and communism, because said history is fascinating. (And so necessary for my NaNo novel)

But think of all the fun you're going to have doing research for accuracy in your story. Thank goodness for Google, right?

Focus on region. That'll help. SA is a big place. Brasil, South (Urugauy, Argentina, Chile), Andean (Peru, Bolivia) North-west (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador), Guyanas ...all major regions with conflicting indigenous and European cultures/history.

NaNo! NaNo! NaNo! (Can't wait!)

I'm sick and my computer is broken - it works in stints - just enough to back up my files. This is why you should handwrite everything - because when you're in the middle of a paragraph and the computer crashes, you'll wish you had just enough time to finish your thought.

I now have three ideas for NaNo. *Worry* For some reason I'm afraid of working on each of them because like Magdalene of the Sorrows - 2009's novel, I want this to be a throw away writing exercise rather than something serious. Maybe I should take it seriously?

Something done for fun can become serious. If you enjoy it the reader might also enjoy it. Almost like watching a guilty pleasure like Prates of the Caribbean 4. The actors seemed to be having such a great time and I enjoyed it with them. Smile

True, I should have fun and take it seriously too. I have issues combining the two. I'm hoping the two or three outlines I do will tell me which is the most interesting to me.

Go with the flow. What flows... Be grateful for whatever comes out. I haven't decided. But travel is more likely for me than NaNo.

Since I have nothing for a full blog entry: New story is getting longer (too long) but taking shape in the second draft. Worried about my NaNoWriMo story this year. Should I do two preparations in October? I'm just not sure what I want to write!

I would say that usually the exercise of writing an extended outline will spell out your level of interest in a novel length story pretty easily... but that can take a few days.

Here's the first Scribble on your new Notebook, aka FarceBrook-style Wall.

Hope you're well and that the anxiety has lessened. Today's a migraine day, and I've got out of tune singers to accompany later this evening. YUCK.

Hahaha. It is SO facebook.

Still not better - actually it's getting worse. And still computerless.

Hope the rehearsal went ok. I always hated going to rehearsals with migraines, there's nothing you can do but sit there and pray you can get through it without vomiting.
