Hey Jen, I'm glad you are helping the Power Reviewers Group out and I have been busy at work. I work full time during the summer at a fishing Marina cleaning hotel rooms. The job is exhausting. These things have happened in the last few weeks....maybe going back to August. First a moderate earthquake in Virginia which took out power and most of the east coast felt, then 2-3 weeks ago an earthquake in central Oklahoma, which is normally known for tornadoes, and whose inhabitants normally revel in the fact that they don't earthquakes...now they do. On top of the tornadoes. Bad real estate. Wink

I would advise: Get the heck out of 'Dodge'!!!

We felt the quake here in Bayonne, NJ, no damage just shaking. I remember the other events now that you pointed me in the right direction. I thought they were happening all at once, overnight perhaps. LOL!

I was offline for a while, and have moved.I have also shut down my business to persue a certificate course in web development through our local community college.
I have one author I saved to my favorites.I'm going to post this on her latest comment. Then at least one person will see this.

Yep - 5.9 - not much on the richter in Cali, but here in VA, our plates are unbroken so it was felt from Georgia to Canada. My niece's school was near the epicenter - it is unusable right now. They are going to school on a 3 day schedule at another school. Where do we go out of Dodge? Oklahoma has them; California has them... Where? I could hide out in a hut in Jamestown I guess. Bigsmile

On a positive note, we here in northern California are into our rainy season. There is nothing more calming for me than to wake up to the sound of cats purring inside in harmony with the falling rain outside. Life is good!

My childhood was less than pleasant as well. However, we can try to focus on the good things at least one of our parents did for us. Surely there must be a good memory in there somewhere?

When it comes to writing submissions, I take the happy with the unhappy. Wink

Life has both happy and unhappy events. Write what you feel and be honest to yourself. Wink

It's so amazing to realize just how much you've accomplished. I literally had a double-take moment when I checked in on ya. Hard to believe how much time has passed some days, but it's astounding to see such success in so (technically...) short a membership. You're a real inspiration as always, congrats! ~Drew

I just saw your handle about your first grandson! I remember the wave of elation that swept through our family when we heard news of my nephew. I know it was especially meaningful for my mom - herself a single mother of three. That was almost 5 years ago, and he is somehow more wonderful, brilliant, and beautiful each time I get to re-meet the little man. Congratulations, a dozen times over! May you find joy each day in him!
