If I were the sound of music And you were my true lover's ear, I'd whisper my song with caresses, And my longings to keep your love near. If I were the sound of music And you were a sweet violin, I'd sweep your soft strings with my tresses, Making melodies sound from within. If I were the sound of music And you were the ears of the World, I'd play all the love to be cherished, With bright banners of friendship unfurled. If I were the sound of music, And you were the children so small, I'd sing of the love and the laughter That these little ones need most of all.
