Leo Days
(A birthday poem) Quizmo LaGrande In my Leo days I prowled state to state, Beach to beach, Life to life. Afraid of nothing. I’d walk dogs without a leash, Mountain goat trails and stones; In my Leo days I roared. Delivered in Virgo, three degrees, Painfully shy and observant Virgo youth, awkward, invisible. Now, today, four times ten plus nine, Pendulum dangling once again in virgin, I’m quiet, contemplating the swing, Measuring the details. An uneventful day, today As I had hoped, but time stops today. Though no Tony Bennetts, or JTs sing the song, No cakes or candles Illuminate what I’ve become, I will walk the dogs sans leashes Peacefully anticipating one more year With a fifty score When perhaps I will purr and stretch And roar again.
