The Web

I gazed upon the spider's web,
so strong against the rain.
Nature tries to tear it down;
her efforts are in vain.

I try to grasp the reasons
of what it stands to gain.
A dreadful situation;
the spider's web remains.

Existence is so fragile
the motives are so plain.
Tiny drops fall from the edge
like tears I can't contain.

Life is like a spider web,
different but the same.
I will face the test of time,
my web against the rain.
