Night Terrors
What lurks in the darkness?

Terrors and fears,
lurking everywhere.

Shadows in darkness,
monsters in the closet,
spiders in the attic,
goblins under the bed.

Darkness shrouding,
covering their trails.

Lights flash on,
dark shadows disappear
banished to the corners,
in the closet,
under the bed.

Monsters, monsters
everywhere!

Not a thing,
to be seen,
in the bright electric light.

Leave a light on,
so that we can see them
when they try
to hop from shadow to shadow
avoiding the light.

Hiding in the darkness,
they only come out at night.

When it is darkest,
monsters of shadows,
terrors of the dark,
awake in the night.
