The Foreshadow Canticle+++
An outright glum bit of poetry as the very first example of luminous writing...

Take me out of oblivion
life-giver, heart-maker
Give flesh to my soul
earth-shaker, fire-breaker
Make whole all of my spirits
sea-mover, breath-taker
A part of me all frailties
star-designer, sun-wrecker
So that they counterbalance my pride
Soul-taker, soul-maker
And that shall suffice amply
in taking me out of non-existence
So that I can shine as brightly
as You meant me to shine
from the very Beginning
from the Dawn of Time
Ravish me Greatness Incarnate
So I can shed this mortal coil
and the stench of death
in which I toil

THE ESSENCE OF LUMINESCENCE
It is found in the way we act
and in the way we talk
in the way we think
and even in the way we walk
It is reputed to be found in the mirrors of our souls
which are our eyes - most precious jewels
It is believed to be found at the very core of our beings
that is, in those of us that are decent human beings
Not all of us are born equal, says genetics
Then no offense shall be taken when it is said
that not all of us are equals in the spiritual as well.
And thus, no wonder that the perfect individual cannot be found
For it cannot be that one who espouses modern science
and all of its stupendous skepticism / refuting rhetoric
could possibly also be well-versed in the inner truths
that can only be acknowledged and measured within.
Such is the essence of luminescence
Not merely being a good boy scout
No - that is not what it is ALL about...!

LOVE AND DAWN - PAIN AND PAWN
What are we all in this world
if not lovers and drifters, hawkers and grifters
who offer themselves up in exchange for bliss
and, if we dare not, would surely be remiss.
From the very dawn of our earthly lives
until the brisk and great beyond - the afterlife
where unseen activity simmers and boils
and makes our earthly activities and toils
seem as trite and insignificant foils
for our own spiritual progress - ahoy
as we roam the seas of kismet and fate
without a sextant; without even faith
Are we doomed to always be
the mere pawns of destiny?
Condemned to repeat over and over again
the same mistakes to the bitter end?
Acting as pawns to our own desires
at the risk of living a life oh most dire
we risk much pain, much dejection
and not merely coming from rejection.
For even in love and passion
one can feel, somehow, depression

Love can be redundant as well
and so its ring is that of a familiar bell
the chimes of which enchant us, hypnotize
as mermaid chants many a sailor enticed
We are powerless before this encantation
for, deep down, we all crave passion
How do we fight off our own yearnings?
Verily - to do so would be self-defeating!

THE ENLIGHTENMENT
Existence can have no meaning
when it is but survival and denial
lying to oneself and rejecting
the profound truth outside the mile
The infinitesimal hope beyond the matter
resting upon a case much dire
it has no bearing on any pretender
but any other seeker, it rends asunder
For worthiness is never assured
when salvaging is attempted
if one feels lesser than he should have been
perhaps the entire introspective enterprise
should have never been projected.
Into the astral lights we peer
seeking out solace as delight
For deep within we know full well
that there is nothing material beyond the light
and nothing without it can be called bright
But my love for you shall be eternal
and love is expressed in the material
