Katrina's Fury

Katrina left lives sharttered and torn
and many of these lives will never be reborn.
Death took some and uncertainty the rest
No more lying on mama's breast.

Darkness came, the winds, and the rain
and in that hour, they knew it wasn't a game,
and to their dismay, the laveen also broke
gushing in tons of more water as
they hoped and hoped.

Fear gripped their hearts like an iron glove
as they screened and prayed to the Father above.
Every thought, perspective, hope, and prayer
was lost forever and God was nowhere.

They tried and tried in vain to escape,
but Katrina and the Laveen was more
than they could take.

Screens and prayers heard over and over
Praying that this nightmare would soon be over.
"Lord, please help me I ask,
and my family too, and don't forget about
our neighbors who we love so true."

Their prayers was heard, and all was not lost
becuse Katrina and the Laveen was not the boss.
The good Lord showed up, and many survived,
and was happy that good Lord was on their side,
but they will never forget the other's fate.
The faces of death, and not a trace of hate.

Note: I pray that the survivers, and the familes of the victims who lost their lives on August 29, 2005 in New Orleans, Mississippi, and Louisana because of Hurrican Katrina will be able to live full productive lives someday.
