I watched you suffer
enduring years of pain
your life slipping away
like water through your fingers.

Day after Day
I know your agony,
a daily struggle
just to exist

Then the day came
you were called home
the pain you endured
just a memory

The tears rolled down
a slight smile across my face
you have gone home
to walk with the angels

I close my eyes
for the last time
my pain and agony
slipping away

The next time I wake
I see you before me
Angels surround us
you say "Welcome Home"
