Deafening Silence There's a quiet in the house so still, it's not the same since you left. You ran out before the pain set in; and the deafening silence fell. I found out too late where we stood, couldn't make it work anymore. Too many nights spent alone, amidst the illusion of your spell. Now empty rooms stare back at me, wondered, what if? or could have been. I should have given love a chance, then I realized I knew you too well. Love leaves its scar on me tonight, maybe that's what you had wanted; when you left me in the soft moonlight but for now, in the past I will dwell. I never saw us growing apart, thought everything was going alright. All our happiness lay on ahead, a story of delight only lovers tell. It's late and my thoughts drift to you, they seem to echo something I've lost. Memories of you that were left behind, torment my days and nights and dreams; As the dreaded, deafening silence fell. ![]()
