The Reclaiming
This poem is about the first step of my recovery from a rape that occured 8 years ago.

I see you with edges blurred
Instead of sharp -
Fading, thank God.
I whisper your name through
Clenched teeth, as if it were
A fearful, furious curse -
A summons of sort - daring myself
To meet your stare,
Defiant. Resilient.
No cowering.
I am not defeated.
